God's Amazing Love

God’s Amazing Love He made us. He saved us. He forgives us. He runs to hug us when we come back to Him. He gave his son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us. What can separate us from God’s love? Because of Jesus, we can be born again to a new life. You can do this today, if you believe. When we believe and are born again, we are placed by God into the church. The family of God. The Body of Christ. In the family, we learn how to love people. Sometimes this is not easy, but God always gives us the power. And the spirit teaches us how to think like new people.

God and Jesus: Same or Different?

God and Jesus:
Same or Different?
Is Jesus really the Son of God, or is he God? Or is he both? First, it is important to understand that God is not a human, and does not have a physical body. He did not get married and have a baby, Jesus. The words father and son are used to give humans better idea of the relationship between them.

The impossibility of completely understanding God.
Because we are human, created, limited, and sinful, we can never fully understand God. God is Creator, infinite, and morally perfect. But it is important to always be learning more about God. He loves to give us wisdom. He has given us his word. He expects us to desire to know him better. To some extent, we will always be like an ant crawling around under a computer. Maybe the ant can understand one or two facts about the computer. It is hard, and flat . But the ant will never think about or learn about the chips and the bits and the bytes. There is TOO BIG A GAP between an ant and a computer. It is much the same way with us and God. If a man were to see God face to face, the meeting would be fatal. God has TOO MUCH GLORY, too much light and power, to get that close to man. We can understand some facts about God, but we can never fully understand him.

So, he sent Jesus. And Jesus agreed to come. He came to be God on earth. He came to be God in human flesh. He came to show how the Creator of human life would live that life. He came to walk and talk with man. To eat and drink, and laugh and cry. To live and die. And what a life! And what a death!

To understand our topic, I am going to suggest a careful and prayerful reading of three passages of Scripture. A slow reading, in various versions, if possible. Even meditating on them with much prayer. As you read these passages, write down questions that we can talk about later.
First, John 1:1-18, Then, John 14:1-14 and Colossians 2:1-15. After you read these passages a few times, please send me your questions.

Ephesians 1
God Unites His People
 1 From Paul,
Saul of Tarsus,
well educated
zealous persecutor of Christians,
Saved by direct encounter with the resurrected Jesus.
Persecuted by the Jews, Romans, and pagans.

an apostle of Christ Jesus.
a special servant called and sent out by God.

I am an apostle because that is what God wanted.
He was not elected by man: did not put himself into the office.
To God's holy people living in Ephesus, believers in Christ Jesus:
This letter was written to Christians.
HW: Scan the letter to see if Paul tells why he wrote it.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Shalom, Hebrew greeting-Peace.
Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.
Praise God! He is the Father of Jesus! Praise Jesus! He is our Lord! Praise Jesus! He is God’s Chosen One! He is the One who Is To Come! He is the Holy One of God! He is the Messiah!
In the Chosen and Holy One-Jesus, God has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.
God is not holding back. He is not saving some blessings for later. Every blessing is ours in Jesus. Every blessing that can exist in our present condition is poured out on us.

in Jesus. The preposition may be understood as by, with, because of, through. The blessings come because of the work of Jesus on the cross. His perfect obedience as the God-Man. His death for our sins, his world-changing resurrection, and his continual presence with us.

What are these blessings?
They are all connected and important.
Salvation
Forgiveness
Hope
Love
Joy
The Holy Spirit
Power

4 That is, in Christ, he chose us before the world was made so that we would be his holy people—people without blame before him.5 Because of his love, God had already decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. That was what he wanted and what pleased him,6 and it brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace. God gave that grace to us freely, in Christ, the One he loves.7 In Christ we are set free by the blood of his death, and so we have forgiveness of sins. How rich is God's grace,8 which he has given to us so fully and freely. God, with full wisdom and understanding,9 let us know his secret purpose. This was what God wanted, and he planned to do it through Christ.10 His goal was to carry out his plan, when the right time came, that all things in heaven and on earth would be joined together in Christ as the head.
11 In Christ we were chosen to be God's people, because from the very beginning God had decided this in keeping with his plan. And he is the One who makes everything agree with what he decides and wants.12 We are the first people who hoped in Christ, and we were chosen so that we would bring praise to God's glory.13 So it is with you. When you heard the true teaching—the Good News about your salvation—you believed in Christ. And in Christ, God put his special mark of ownership on you by giving you the Holy Spirit that he had promised.14 That Holy Spirit is the guarantee that we will receive what God promised for his people until God gives full freedom to those who are his—to bring praise to God's glory.
Paul's Prayer
15 That is why since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people,16 I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I always remember you in my prayers,17 asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you will know him better.18 I pray also that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which he has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people.19And you will know that God's power is very great for us who believe. That power is the same as the great strength20 God used to raise Christ from the dead and put him at his right side in the heavenly world.21 God has put Christ over all rulers, authorities, powers, and kings, and every title that can be given, not only in this world but also in the next.22 God put everything under his power and made him the head over everything for the church,23 which is Christ's body. The church is filled with Christ, and Christ fills everything in every way.

SURPRISING JESUS! 1. Water to Wine

1 Two days later there was a wedding in the town of Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there,2 and Jesus and his followers were also invited to the wedding. 3 When all the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
4 Jesus answered,"Dear woman, why come to me? My time has not yet come."
5 His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you to do."
6 In that place there were six stone water jars that the Jews used in their washing ceremony. Each jar held about twenty or thirty gallons.
7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled the jars to the top.
8 Then he said to them, "Now take some out and give it to the master of the feast."
So they took the water to the master.9 When he tasted it, the water had become wine. He did not know where the wine came from, but the servants who had brought the water knew. The master of the wedding called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, "People always serve the best wine first. Later, after the guests have been drinking awhile, they serve the cheaper wine. But you have saved the best wine till now."
11 So in Cana of Galilee Jesus did his first miracle. There he showed his glory, and his followers believed in him.

Let's Think!

1. What did you eat and drink at your wedding?

2. How many people came to your wedding?

3. Did you have enough food and drink?

4. Jesus made wine from water. Was it bad, good, or very good?

5. What do you need ?

6. Brent believes:

a. Jesus is God, the Son of God.
b. He lived as a human about 2000 years ago.
c. Jesus was a great teacher,
d. did miracles,
e. and died for our sins.
f. One day, Jesus went to wedding feast in a real town called Cana, had a good time, drank wine, and then, made 600 liters of regular water into very good wine.

What do you believe?

Sin, Faith, and Rescue

Scroll down for English

Sin, Faith, and Rescue

In love, God created the world.
People were always selfish.
People were completley evil.
God decided to re-start.
He decided to destroy everything.
But one man was good.
He was a man of fatih.
God rescued him by using a big boat.
Noah built a big boat to save himself and and his family
He saved the animals, too.
God knows how to rescue people.
He has a plan to rescue us.
We too, in 2011, and full of sin, can be saved by faith, too.

How big was Noah's Ark?

What were the dimensions of Noah's Ark? The Ark was taller than a 3-story building and had a deck area the size of 36 lawn tennis courts. Its length was 300 cubits (450 feet, or 135 meters); its width was 50 cubits (75 feet, or 22.5 meters); it had three stories and its height was 30 cubits (45 feet, or 13.5 meters).

Surprising Jesus - 1

Everywhere he went, Jesus surprised people.

His words:
No one ever talked like that before.

His deeds.
Running out of wine for your wedding guests?
Jesus invented grapes and wine.
Jesus is the vine.
He will help you.
He is the Provider.
He will turn your water into wine.

Have you been listening to him for so long,
you are hungry and weak?
No problem, he will take a little bread
and a few fish, feed 5000 people and
still have leftovers.

And the healings.
Whatever the sickness, bring it to Jesus.
He can make the blind man see.
He can make the lame man walk.
He can make the deaf child hear.
Even if doctors cannot heal the bleeding inside, Jesus can.
He is never too late.
If his friend dies, he can raise him to life again.

Jesus was full of surprises.
Whether you are beginning to read the good news,
or you have been reading for a long time,
let Jesus surprise you!
